Q. What do you mean by 'lifetime' cover?
A. All benefits are reinstated annually. As long as you renew the policy and pay the required premium, the policy will reinstate the maximum level of benefit even for ongoing and recurring conditions. Once the policy has commenced, no exclusions will be placed upon the schedule.
Q. Are there any age limits for the insurance?
A. As long as your pet is aged from eight weeks to eight years when you start the policy, we will cover the animal for life (subject to payment of premium). If you are insuring one of the Specific Breeds of dog, you must insure before its sixth birthday. Cover can then be continued for the rest of the pet's life, with the exception of Death From Illness which ceases at eight years of age, or six years in case of Specific Breeds.
Q. What treatment does the policy exclude?
A. Spaying or castration unless recommended on medical grounds, vaccinations, dietary foods, pregnancy or preventative treatment.
Q. Is homeopathic medicine covered by the insurance?
A. Yes - this is extended to include herbal medicine, acupuncture and physiotherapy.
Q. Does the insurance cover congenital or hereditary conditions?
A. Yes - providing these have not been noted before the commencement of the insurance.
Q. Can I insure more than one pet?
A. You can apply for up to 2 pets using this form. If you obtain another pet on a later date you will need a separate form and direct debit
Q. Can I get treatment for my pet whilst on holida
A. Yes, as long as you are in a country covered by the EU pet passport and have travelled by a method approved by MAFF/DEFRA (Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food/ Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs).
Q. What is the position if my pet disappears and does not return?
A. After 30 days, a claim can be submitted for its purchase price plus your advertising expenses (depending on the cover chosen).
Q. Can my pet be insured after an illness or accident?
A. Yes - if it has fully recovered and there are no after effects. If it suffers from a chronic or recurring condition cover can still be offered, subject to the exclusion of this condition.
